What do I mean with slow parenting?

In this day and age having a child is very different than for the generations before us. For us as millennials, we have analyzed our own minds extensively and all the psychological research that has been done emphasizes so much how important good enough parenting is for mental and physical health well into their adult years. The unstoried self

We all have two sides: one conscious and one unconscious. Great thinkers such as Freud and Jung have declared this as well. As the experiments done in this YouTube video provide a glimpse that they definitely were onto something. This other unstoried self exists inside our own bodies, literally, that there is another person living there, whom we are not conscious of. Did you ever discover this part of yourself? Do you experience conflict within? It might be that one part of you wants to, but the other part simply has very different ideas about this. Stilte in de storm

Het is lang stil geweest op Slow Parenting Family. Het leven heeft ons bij de kladden gepakt, en tussen onze collectieve opgaves van werk (yoga les geven, yay!), geld verdienen, het project ‘Jet goed leren slapen’ en ons huis opknappen was er weinig ruimte voor publieke reflectie. Dat is toch wel hoe ik een blog zie: een plek om publiekelijk te reflecteren. Reflecteren heb ik voldoende gedaan, alleen aangezien ik bezig was om donkere kanten van mezelf als mens te doorgronden, had ik hiervoor twijfel om dit te durven delen.
